Strong results for Pioneerof the Nile at Keeneland September day 1

Pioneerof the Nile, who had one of the top yearlings at the August Fasig-Tipton sale, saw more solid results during the first session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale on Monday afternoon.

Topping the day for the WinStar stallion was the very first horse to go through the ring, hip No. 1 consigned by Betz Thoroughbreds, agent, and purchased by China Horse Club/Maverick Racing for $475,000. The colt is out of Grade 2-place Saint Bernadette, the dam of Social Inclusion, who placed in both the Preakness S. (G1) and Wood Memorial (G1).

Half-way through the session, hip No. 101, consigned by Clearsky Farms, agent, went to Let’s Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm for $400,000. The colt’s dam, Touch Here, is a half-sister to Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Summerly.

Pioneerof the Nile has a total of 53 lots remaining in the sale, which runs through Sept. 25.
