WinStar Farm Announces Winner of Super Name Sweepstakes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 20, 2010. Lexington, KY.

WinStar Farm is excited to announce the winner of its unique "Super Name Sweepstakes" in honor of 2010 Kentucky Derby Winner SUPER SAVER. The winning name selected out of the nearly 9,000 names entered by horse racing fans from all over the United States is . . . SUPERFECTION!

The winning entry, SUPERFECTION, as selected by WinStar Farm, will become the official name of the colt, which the Jockey Club approved just today. The winning fan, Carroll Mayfield of Memphis, Tennessee, not only gets the distinction of picking the winning name, but he also receives a $100 gift certificate to the WinStar Farm online store.

During the week leading up to the Preakness Stakes, horse racing fans submitted thousands of names in an attempt to be selected as the name for the little brother to SUPER SAVER. The colt, born April 11, 2010, is sired by Medaglia D'Oro and is out of Supercharger. Supercharger is also the dam of SUPER SAVER.

Approximately 10,000 racing fans visited WinStar Farm’s website, http://WinStarFarm.com and joined in the fun of trying their luck at naming this special thoroughbred foal, adding their own creativity to the naming process.

Two other fans, selected at random from the thousands of entries, will receive gift certificates to the WinStar Farm online store. Barbara Learned is the 2nd place finisher and will receive a $50 gift certificate. The 3rd place finisher is Gerald Zebell and he will receive a $25 gift certificate. Visit http://Derby.WinStarFarm.com for a full list of rules and prizes.

“This contest allowed racing fans everywhere to participate in an incredibly unique way with WinStar Farm in naming one of our treasured colts,” stated Doug Cauthen, President of WinStar Farm. Cauthen further remarked: “This was a very difficult task for us in selecting the best name from the thousands of entries. We learned that there are a lot of passionate horse racing fans with a ton of creativity.”

The contest was featured during the live broadcast of the Preakness Stakes by NBC, and received prominent mention throughout the thoroughbred racing world. “We look forward to bringing more fun and interesting interactive events to horse racing fans – it sure has been a lot of fun for us at WinStar!,” stated Cauthen.

Undefeated King Humor quickly recovered after a slow start to lead nearly the entire way in the $75,000 Ocala Flame S. on June 7 at Gulfstream Park, ultimately winning by a half-length. The 3-year-old Distorted Humor colt is now three-for-three lifetime, with all three of his wins coming at Gulfstream for owner Heczor Investments Corp. and trainer Victor Barboza, Jr. The chestnut colt's earnings stand at $101,235. A bit tardy at the break, King Humor rushed to the lead soon after. Zipping through the first half-mile in :44.98, he dug in gamely in the stretch to hold off Powerful Venezuela to earn his first stakes victory. The Kentucky-bred winner is the second foal out of the Pleasant Tap mare Taptam, a six-time stakes winner who also placed in the Apple Blossom H. (G1). Distorted Humor is the sire of 145 lifetime stakes winners and 67 graded stakes winners worldwide. This year, his runners have earned nearly $3 million to date and won or placed in 11 stakes.
