Super Saver colt equals sale record at OBS

A son of Super Saver consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, went to The Three Amigos for $575,000 to top the third session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2015 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age, which runs June 16-19. The price tied the highest ever paid at the June sale.

The bay colt, hip 771, is a half-brother to Fiftyshadesofhay, a multiple graded stakes winner also campaigned by The Three Amigos. Out of Grade 1-placed Quiet Kim, he breezed a quarter in :21 3/5 at last Friday’s Under Tack session.

“He didn’t have any hiccups. He’s been a nice horse the whole time,” Dodd said. “He just came together at the right time. I’m real excited. I never know what they are going to bring. I really thought he would bring the upside of $250,000. Maybe, if we were lucky, $350,000 or so. I had no clue he would bring a half-million dollars plus.”
