Super Saver colt goes for $325K at F-T Gulfstream Sale

Wednesday’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale of 2-year-olds featured a flashy Super Saver colt from consignor Eddie Woods which ultimately sold for $325,000 to leading owner Live Oak Plantation.

The colt, hip No. 23, had breezed a swift :10.2 seconds during the Feb. 27 Under Tack Show (breeze video here). The bay Kentucky-bred is out of Be Smart, who finished second at two in the Alcibiades S. (G1) and is a half-sister to the More Than Ready stakes winner Road Ready.

Super Saver’s fourth crop are 2-year-olds of 2017. His first three crops have been nothing short of spectacular, with horses like champion Runhappy and Grade 1 winner Competitive Edge elevating the WinStar stallion to the top of the Cumulative Third-Crop Sire list in several categories.
