Super Saver halter being auctioned for charity

A stallion halter from 2010 Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver is being auctioned to benefit the Halo House Foundation. Included with the halter is a wonderful 8" x 10" photo of Super Saver racing to a Derby victory signed by Doug Cauthen and Elliott Walden of WinStar Farm, Trainer Todd Pletcher and Jockey Calvin Borel. The 136th running of the Kentucky Derby was an unbelievable journey for the connections of Super Saver. Run over a thick, muddy track, the day would mark the first Derby win for Winstar Farm and Todd Pletcher and the third Derby crown for Calvin Borel in four years. They all joined forces on the first Saturday in May to take horse racing's biggest prize.

 

All proceeds from the auction will help purchase housing and furnishings for lymphoma and leukemia patients. The auction is made possible by the generous contributions of Winstar Farm, Todd Pletcher. and Calvin Borel.

 

The Halo House Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing fully furnished, low cost housing to people with leukemia or lymphoma receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center. The fight against cancer can be emotionally, physically and financially draining. One of the few things not covered by medical insurance is housing and it can be very expensive when a family member must travel to Houston for specialized care. Our hope is that no one battling these diseases will have the burden of worrying about the high cost of accommodations, and Halo House will be a home away from home for these families.
