Bear ran down pacesetter Here’s Hannah in the final strides of the $50,000 Delta Colleen S. to give the 4-year-old Super Saver filly her initial stakes victory in the 1 1/8-mile contest.
Bear, who was already stakes-placed this year, is one of Super Saver’s 10 stakes horses in 2019.
Here’s Hannah had things her own way on the lead until Bear made her determined stretch run, getting up in the last 50 yards to win by a head, with the rest of the field some eight lengths back.
Bear was bred in Kentucky by Mike Rutherford. Her dam Cuero is a half-sister to Peter Pan S. (G2) winner Postponed and a full sister to stakes winner Bridesmaid.
