Swear Me In tops at Tampa for Spring at Last

Spring at Last’s winners list now stands at an even dozen after Swear Me In broke her maiden going six furlongs at Tampa Bay Downs on Dec. 1. Spring at Last is second on the Freshman Sire List and is one of only two first-crop sires with progeny earnings topping the $1 million mark.

WinStar Farm recently announced its 2013 stud fees, and after his tremendous reception by breeders and results on the track, Spring at Last will stand next year for $15,000 LFS&N.

Swear Me In showed an impressive turn of foot between the half and quarter poles, going from sixth to first while between horses, eventually pulling away for a length and a half victory in 1:11.79.

The winner is owned by Goodwood Racing II, who bought the Kentucky-bred filly for $23,000 out of the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale.
