Take Charge Indy’s first F-T Saratoga yearling sells for $170K

The first yearling from the initial crop of Take Charge Indy to go through the ring during the Monday session of the Aug. 8-9 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale hammered for $170,000 off the winning bid of Frank Brothers on behalf of Starlight Racing.

The dark bay filly, hip No. 76, was consigned by St George Sales, agent. The filly, out of Grade 3 winner Lilah, is a half-sister to Big Blue Nation, who placed in the Hopeful S. (G1).

Take Charge Indy has one additional lot in Saratoga’s Tuesday session, a very well-bred filly out of C. S. Royce, who is the dam of Cherry Wine, who was second in this year’s Preakness S. (G1) and third in the Blue Grass S. (G1).
