Take Charge Indy’s Motion Emotion breaks through in $250,000 Zia Park Oaks

Motion Emotion held off Calf Moon Bay by a half-length to earn her first stakes victory in the Zia Park Oaks on Nov. 27 (VIDEO).

The 3-year-old daughter of Take Charge Indy was runner-up in both the Honeybee S. (G3) and Fantasy S. (G3) earlier this year. She is the fifth stakes winner and one of 14 black type horses this year for leading Third-Crop Sire Take Charge Indy. The Grade 1-winning son of A.P. Indy will stand at WinStar Farm in 2020 for $17,500, stands and nurses.

Motion Emotion, the odd-on favorite in the 1 1/16-mile contest, let longshot Glacier Point take the front as she bided her time in second through a half-mile in :47.50. She easily caught the pacesetter on the final bend and opened up by three lengths in mid-stretch, then won easier than the final margin suggested.

The winner is owned by Abbondanza Racing, LLC, Mark DeDomenico LLC and Medallion Racing. Wednesday’s win upped her mark to 3-3-0 in 10 starts and earnings to $418,845.

Bred by WinStar, Motion Emotion hails from the family of Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) heroine Shared Account, who is the dam of this year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Sharing (Speightstown).
