Tarty to the Party up in time in $100K Saylorville S.

Speightstown’s incredibly consistent mare Tarty to the Party kicked in late in the $100,000 Saylorville S. at Prairie Meadows racetrack to win the six-furlong contest by a head in a three-horse photo (VIDEO).

The 6-year-old has finished first or second in 24 of her 41 lifetime starts. She is Speightstown’s ninth stakes winner this year, raising his progeny earnings to nearly $3.5 million through the first half of 2016.

Tarty to the Party tallied at the back of the six-horse field until she had just a furlong to run, when Corie Lanerie guided her five-wide to swoop by the entire field and win by a head in 1:09.56 on the muddy surface.

The winner upped her bankroll to $347,060 for owners Pat Sullivan and J. R. Boesen.
