Leading First-Crop sire Gemologist will be represented by a pair of juveniles in this year’s Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 4-5 at Santa Anita Park.
Currently ranked second on the Freshman Sire list, Gemologist will have Yellow Agate in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), while Theory is slated for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
Yellow Agate, undefeated winner of the Frizette S. (G1) on Oct. 8 at Belmont Park, was one of 13 2-year-old fillies entered for the 4th race on Nov. 5. Yellow Agate, owned by China Horse Club, was a $210,000 buy at the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling sale and has earned $285,000 in her two wins.
Theory, who is also undefeated in two starts, is likewise owned by China Horse Club, in partnership with WinStar Farm, home of Gemologist. Theory was a dominant winner in both his Saratoga maiden win and the Futurity S. (G3) at Belmont Park.
Official post positions for the Breeders’ Cup will be drawn on Oct. 31.
