Tiznow colt hammers for $260K at F-T July

A beautifully-bred colt by champion sire Tiznow brought a winning bid of $260,000 at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale in central Kentucky.

The colt, cataloged as hip No. 69, was consigned by Perrone Sales Ltd, agent for Apache Farm et al, and went to winning bidders Maverick Racing and China Horse Club.

The bay colt’s dam Passe has one previous foal to race, the multiple stakes winner Wonder Gal, who has earned over $900,000. Passe’s half-sister Social Queen was a Grade 3 winner and is the dam of the dynamic racehorse Force the Pass, a Grade 1 winner of more than $1.2 million.

In addition to another stellar crop of runners in 2017, Tiznow is the sire of a $2.45 million colt at the OBS April sale, the highest price paid for a 2-year-old at auction this year.
