Tiznow filly rolls by 6 ½ in Heatheren S.

In her stakes debut, Cash for Clunkers splashed to a 6 3/4-length victory in the $90,000 Heatherten S. May 2 at Belmont Park to give Tiznow his tenth stakes horse of 2012. Tiznow is America’s fourth leading sire through the first four months of this year and will be represented by the undefeated Gemologist in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby (G1).

Four-year-old Cash for Clunkers made all the running in the Heatherten. The Kentucky-bred dueled through the opening half mile before she began to pull away without encouragement on the turn. Alan Garcia sat motionless for the stretch run as the Rick Violette trainee drew off to finish the 1 1/16-miles in 1:43.35 on a muddy track, earning a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 100.

Cash for Clunkers extended her winning streak to three races and is now 4-1-1 in six starts for owners William H. Lawrence and Klaravich Stables, Inc.
