Trio of Breeders’ Cup entries for More Than Ready

More Than Ready, already the sire of three Breeders’ Cup winners, could double that total in this year’s  Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 4-5 at Santa Anita Park.

A win by Miss Southern Miss is the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) would give her sire his second winner in the race, joining 2010 winner More Than Real. The one-mile Fillies Turf drew a full field of 14 2-year-old fillies. Miss Southern Miss, who is multiple graded stakes-placed on the dirt, won her first start on the grass on Oct. 10 when she roared down the stretch to take the Surfer Girl S. at Santa Anita.

More Than Ready’s other 2-year-old starter is Made You Look in the Juvenile Turf (G1), a race won by Pluck in 2010. Made You Look, owned by Lets Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm, won Saratoga’s With Anticipation S. (G2) in his first stakes start.

The up-and-coming 3-year-old Tom’s Ready is one of 11 runners entered in the Dirt Mile (G1), the seventh race on Friday. After spending the spring on the Triple Crown trail, culminating with a start in the Kentucky Derby (G1), Tom’s Ready cut back in distance and was rewarded with wins in the Woody Stephens S. (G2) and most recently the Ack Ack H. (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Official post positions for the Breeders’ Cup will be drawn on Oct. 31.
