Weekend Report: Bluegrass Cat

Bluegrass Cat’s runners represented their sire in fine style the first weekend in June, winning six races over a three-day period. A top-five third-crop sire with more than $1.5 million in progeny earnings, Bluegrass Cat stands this year for $17,500 live foal.

Showing ability to get victories no matter what the venue, the half-dozen winners came at six different tracks at distances from 5 1/2-furlongs to 1 1/16 miles. The group included three maiden winners as well as a first level allowance winner at Canterbury Park.

Bluegrass Cat’s leading earner on the year is Teeth of the Dog, third in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial, and another top three-year-old in Sabercat, who ran third in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby.
