WinStar sells session-topper at Fasig-Tipton

“They don’t come much better looking than this fellow,” said Fasig-Tipton announcer Terence Collier of a Street Cry colt that brought $800,000 just before the midway point of the Saratoga select yearling sale Aug. 2 in upstate New York. Sheikh Mohammed’s bloodstock manager, John Ferguson, signed the sale ticket for the handsome dark bay or brown yearling.

“Obviously, he’s a very athletic horse and he’s been a good horse throughout the year,” said Ferguson, whose buying team frequently inspects yearlings while they are still at their farms and watches them develop. “He’s by a sire that has done great things, and he’s a very smart colt.”

Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned the colt, which was bred by Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt’s WinStar Farm. The yearling is out of the unraced A.P. Indy mare Don’t Tacha Me, who is a half sister to European champion One Cool Cat (by Storm Cat).
