$500K Fasig-Tipton filly for Distorted Humor

Top sire Distorted Humor once again had a top-5 seller at auction, this time at the July 14 Fasig-Tipton Summer Selected Horses of Racing Age sale in Lexington when a filly by the WinStar stallion brought a winning bid of $500,000 from Stonestreet Stables.

Hillaby, cataloged as hip No. 304, was consigned by Taylor Made Sale Agency as part of he Melnyk Racing Stables dispersal. Four-year-old Hillaby is out of Canadian Horse of the Year and filly Triple Crown winner Sealy Hill.

Hillaby is undefeated in two starts this year while being trained by Mark Casse, who will retain those duties according to John Moynihan, who signed the ticket for Stonestreet.

“She looks like she’s sitting on the verge of being a stakes horse,” Moynihan said. “We’ll take a shot and see what happens. She’s got a great pedigree. She’s by Distorted Humor, who is a great broodmare sire.”
