Constitution filly overcomes tough trip for second career win

Queen Field rallied down the Gulfstream Park turf course stretch to best Rising Bella by a neck to give the 2-year-old daughter of Constitution her second lifetime win.

The bay filly had broke her maiden on Sept. 20 over the same course for trainer Antonio Sano and owner Leuf Racing Stable LLC. Queen Field is one of Constitution’s 24 First-Crop winners and the Dec. 11 win pushed his progeny earnings over the $2 million mark, making him and American Pharoah the only two Freshman Sires of 2019 to hit that milestone.

Queen Field, in post four, was bottled up on the inside for the first six furlongs of the one mile contest. She had to repeated check off heels on the backstretch, but found an opening entering the lane and went by pacesetter Centsational and outran Rising Bella to the wire for the win.

The winner was bred in Kentucky by Kendall Hansen, MD Racing LLC.
