Distorted Humor 2yos set for Breeders’ Cup 2020

Distorted Humor, the sire of 2011 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Drosselmeyer, will be represented by a pair of 2-year-olds in this year’s Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland.

Both colts will run during Friday’s card, with Momos in the Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) and Calibrate in the Juvenile (G1).

Momos kicks things off in the sixth race, which runs at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Christophe Clemente trainee, who drew post seven in the full field of 14, has performed very well on the main track as well as the turf. He broke his maiden on debut on the dirt, ran third in the Saratoga Special (G2), then was beaten just a length when switched to the turf for the Futurity (G3) at Belmont Park.

Momos is owned by Ironhorse Racing Stable and Secure Investments and was bred in Kentucky by Tami Bobo and Distorted Humor Syndicate. His dam Inspeight of Us is a sister to Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner Mongolian Saturday, American Oaks (G1) winner Daddys Lil Darling and multiple stakes winner Victoryasecret.

The Juvenile, race 10 at 5:15 p.m., drew a full field of 14 as well, with Calibrate unluckily drawing the outside post in the 1 1/16-mile event. Calibrate was also a debut winner at Saratoga and will be making his third lifetime start on Friday.

The bay colt, who sold for $340,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale, was bred by the Don Alberto Corp. and is owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds.
