Distorted Humor colt sets the bar at Keeneland September sale

Three Chimneys Farm went to $1.525 million to secure a colt by Distorted Humor during the second day of the Sept. 14-26 Keeneland September Yearling sale, the highest price to that point in the marathon auction.

Consigned as hip No. 277 by Taylor Made Sales Agency on behalf of Stonestreet Stables, the colt is out of Forest Music, winner of the 2005 Honorable Miss S. (G2) and the dam of Kentuckian, a 3-year-old son of Tiznow who won this year’s Laz Barrera S. (G3).

“We looked at the pedigree and hopefully he’ll be our next stallion. We may race him with Stonestreet. We’re excited. Everything (impressed us),” Three Chimneys’ owner Goncalo Torrealba said. “You always go a little further (than you expect to pay), but the good ones are hard to come by.”

Just two hips earlier Distorted Humor had another sales highlight when hip No. 275, a filly consigned by Gainesway, went for $725,000 to Courtlandt Farm. The filly is the first foal out of the A. P. Indy mare Forbidden Gift and her third dam is millionaire and multiple grade 1 winner Secret Status.
