Drosselmeyer notches another MdSpWt winner

Copper Cajun rolled to an impressive 5 ½-length maiden special weight score Wednesday at Evangeline Downs to give freshman sire Drosselmeyer his third winner from his first crop.

The chestnut 2-year-old easily handled the field of 10 juveniles with an authoritative stretch run following an early race duel.

Bred by Clear Creek Stud, Copper Cajun is out of the stakes-placed mare Watkins Glen and hails from a family of several multiple stakes winners.

Drosselmeyer, winner of both the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and Belmont S. (G1), stood this year at WinStar Farm for $15,000.
