Exaggerator colt becomes first stakes winner for his sire

Gagetown earned his first stakes win Friday evening at Prairie Meadows with a neck victory in the $50,000 Prairie Mile for 3-year-olds.  The Rupp Racing colt is the first stakes winner for Exaggerator, who leads the Second-Crop Cumulative Sire list by both winners (28) and wins (31).

Gagetown, who had placed in Sugar Bowl S. at two and Animal Kingdom S. this year, came from fifth at the mid-way point of Friday’s contest, running down pacesetter Flash of Mischief in the final sixteenth to hit the wire first.

The final time was 1:36.78 on a fast track.

The winner is now 2-3-1 in seven starts and has earned $134,262. Gagetown was bred in Kentucky by SF Bloodstock and is a half-brother to Mother Goose S. (G1) winner Include Betty. Gagetown originally sold for $170,000 as a weanling at the 2018 Keeneland November sale.
