Fed Biz filly surges late to take one-mile MdSpWt

Music and Lyrics rally in deep stretch earned the 2-year-old Fed Biz filly a three-quarter length victory in a one-mile maiden special weight race Oct. 1 at Presque Isle Downs (VIDEO).

She is Fed Biz’s eighth winner from his first crop, which ranks fourth on the 2018 Freshman Sire list. Fed Biz has been among the most popular young stallions, with more than 140 mares bred per year in his first three seasons at stud.

Music and Lyrics broke from the inside post, but by the time the field hit the final turn, she went three-wide to make a bid for the lead. It wasn’t until deep inside the final sixteenth that she put in that last rush for the lead to snatch the victory.

The winner is owned by WinStar Farm and Blazing Meadows Farm, the latter also her breeder. The dark bay is the first foal out of Lefreakcestchic, the same family that produced graded stakes winners Living Vicariously and With Distinction.
