A colt from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Gemologist turned in one of the fastest works of the day during Monday’s under tack session for the upcoming OBS March Selected Two-Year-Olds in training sale.
The gray juvenile covered the 1/8-mile in :09 4/5 seconds, tied for the fast work of the day.
The colt, consigned by Julie Davies and cataloged as hip No. 171, is out of the multiple stakes-winning Sky Classic mare Penny Marie. She is the dam of graded stakes-placed Centrique and stakes-placed Bern Legacy, and her family includes Kentucky Oaks (G2) Sun and Snow.
Gemologist, winner of the Wood Memorial (G1) and Kentucky Jockey S. (G2), has a total of 18 entries in the March 15-16 OBS sale.
