A colt from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Gemologist had the fastest time during the second Under Tack Show session for the upcoming OBS June Sale of Two Year Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age.
Gemologist has a total of 14 2-year-olds cataloged in the sale, which runs June 14-17 at the Ocala auction facility.
Consigned by Top Line Sales Agency and cataloged as hip No. 215, the chestnut colt zipped through an eighth-mile in :09 4/5 seconds. Video of the workout can be found here on the OBS Sales page.
The Kentucky-bred’s cataloged is filled with black type, including Champion 2-year-old filly Outstandingly, Grade 1 winner Sky Mesa, and graded stakes winners Della Francesca, Mister Storm and Wiseman’s Ferry.
Gemologist has been one of the top freshman sires of 2-year-old this year, currently ranking fourth by average price at $145,241.
