Gemacho, making just his second start, scored a wire-to-wire maiden special weight victory at one mile over the Ellis Park turf course on Sunday.
Gemacho is Gemologist’s fourth winner from his first crop, all coming in maiden special weight contests, including at the summer’s premier meets in Del Mar and Saratoga.
The winner, out of Touch of Truth, is a half-brother to five winners, including Monrovia S. (G3) winner Society Hostess. Touch of Truth is a half-sister to Twilight Agenda, a seven-time graded stakes winner of $2.1 million.
Gemacho is owned by his trainer Vickie Foley (in partnership). Foley purchased the bay colt out of the OBS Spring 2-year-old Sale this past April.
