Koh I Noor rolls to fourth straight

Koh I Noor, a 4-year-old Harlan’s Holiday colt, strolled to his fourth straight victory Thursday at Laurel Park, powering home to an 8 1/4-length win at a mile on the main track.

The Maryland-bred has been nothing short of incredible since switching to the dirt following his career bow on the grass last September. Since then, he’s broke his maiden by 10 ½ lengths in October, then reeled off 4-plus length allowance wins in November and December. In Thursday’s race, where he beat 2012 Illinois Derby (G3) winner Done Talkin, Koh I Noor got the distance in 1:38.52, earning him a second straight Beyer Speed Figure of 99.

Bred by Green Willow Farms, Koh I Noor is out of the stakes-placed mare V V S Flawless. She is also the dam of the promising 3-year-old colt Big Lute.

Harlan’s Holiday, last year’s champion juvenile sire, has gotten off to another strong start in 2013. Currently in the top 15 on the General Sire list, Harlan’s Holiday looks to have a strong hand in this year’s Triple Crown with leading sophomores Shanghai Bobby, the 2012 Juvenile Male champion, and California Derby winner Zeewat.
