Laoban’s Re Created wins Aqueduct maiden special weight duel

Re Created became top-three First-Crop sire Laoban’s ninth overall winner on Nov. 27 when he won a one-mile maiden special weight race at Aqueduct.

The 2-year-old colt faced just two foes and was head-to-head for the lead with Reunion Tour for the first six furlongs, when Reunion Tour began to fade and Blurt immediately took up the chase. Re Created fended off the second challenge as well to win by a half-length on the muddy racetrack.

Re Created is owned by Richard and Jane Schosberg, along with America’s Pastime Stables and Hidden Brook. He was bred in New York by Sequel Thoroughbreds and Barone’s Sunny Crest and is out of the stakes-placed mare Mosaico, making him a half-brother to multiple stakes-placed My Roxy Girl.

With Grade 1 winner Simply Ravishing and multiple Grade 1-placed Keepmeinmind part of his excellent first crop of runners, Laoban recently joined the WinStar Farm roster for 2021. He will stand for $25,000 Live Foal.
