Magic Dance On Point in Debutante Score

TDN Rising Star Magic Dance kept her perfect record intact with a determined 1 ½-length victory in Saturday’s $125,000 Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs. Owned and bred by Three Chimneys Farm, Magic Dance is a daughter of More Than Ready—Magical World, by Distorted Humor and she is a half-sister to recent Grade 1 winner Guarana.

In winning for the second time in as many outings, Magic Dance, who was piloted by Ricardo Santana Jr., stopped the clock for six furlongs in 1:10.26 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

“She got herself into a perfect position early on in the race,” said Santana. “She was ready to run today and fought back. That was a very nice performance.”

The win was worth $75,175, which increased the 2-year-old filly’s bankroll to $114,175. Prior to her Debutante score, Magic Dance broke her maiden at Churchill by 4 ¾ lengths on June 7.
