More Than Ready tallied his eighth stakes winner of 2022 Saturday at Gulfstream Park when the 3-year-old filly Omixochitl prevailed by a length in the $75,000 Miss Gracie S.
Omixochitl, who was a very close second in the grassy Honey Rider S. at Gulfstream, found the newly installed Tapeta surface to her liking on Saturday. She tracked the pacesetting Margeaux Romance for the first six furlongs before taking the lead, then held her position all the way to the wire, fininshing the 1 1/16-miles in 1:45.18.
Owned by her breeder St. George Stable LLC, Omixochitl is 4-2-0 in nine starts and earned $135,910. She was the first named foal out of Goodbye Kid, who is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire Tom’s Ready.
Omixochitl has the distinction of being More Than Ready’s 125th Northern Hemisphere black-type winner and one of his 217 worldwide, which the most ever for any North American-based sire.
