More Than Ready had the new sales topper early during Wednesday’s closing session of the 2022 OBS March 2-year-old sale when hip No. 318 brought a winning bid of $1.2 million.
Consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, Kaleem Shah was the winning bidder just minutes after the start of Wednesday’s action.
The youngster had worked an eighth in :9 4/5 during Sunday’s final breeze session of the Under Tack Show. He is out of the Indian Charlie mare Broad Spectrum and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Broad Approval. This is also the female family of champion Rushing Fall, also by More Than Ready, and Grade 1 winner Albert the Great.
Superstar stallion More Than Ready is the sire of the winners of more Breeders’ Cup races than any other in the history of the event and has sired more overall winners than any sire ever. In 2022, he already has stakes winners on three continents and eight stakes horses to date.
