New high for Take Charge Indy Thursday at Keeneland

Take Charge Indy’s $180,000 colt purchased by Shelby Stables represented a personal best for the first-crop stallion during Thursday’s session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale.

The winning bid also was the third-highest for the entire day.

Cataloged as hip No. 3421,  the bay juvenile was consigned by Burleson Farms, agent. His dam Promoted Deputy, by Deputy Minister, has already produced the stakes winners Stormation and Smart Promotion and is from the same family as multiple graded stakes winner Cowtown Cat, by Distorted Humor.

Take Charge Indy, whose first foals are appearing at the 2016 yearling sales, has had four juveniles bring at least $120,000 during the Keeneland sale, with prominent buyers such as Sallusto & Albina, agents, China Horse Club, Steve Young and Big Chief Racing signing tickets for his offspring.
