Outwork and Speightster colts fire bullets at Fasig-Tipton Under Tack show

Colts from WinStar first-crop stallions Outwork and Speightster shared the fastest time for a furlong during the June 24 Under Tack show for next week’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in Training sale. The sale will be held June 29-30.

Both colts covered the distance in 10 seconds flat.

Hip No. 106, a bay son of Outwork, is consigned by Wolf Creek Farms, agent. The colt is out of the unraced Maria’s Mon mare Marialua, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Honolua Storm, and his fourth dam is the dam of Triple Crown winner Affirmed.

“We’ve always liked him. He’s a big, pretty horse and he looks like he’s fast,’ said Wolf Creek’s Troy Winfrey.

The Speightster colt, hip No. 51, is from the Luis Garcia consignment.

“The Speightsters have been selling good and people are looking for them,” Garcia said. “I think he’s going to be a nice horse and I think Speightster is going to be a nice stallion.”

The colt’s dam Izzy Izzy has three winners from as many starters, led by stakes winner En Hanse.

The Midlantic catalog features a total of 16 lots by Outwork and 17 by Speightster. The auction begins each day at 11 a.m. ET.
