Paynter yearlings average $227.5K at F-T Saratoga

Paynter had a pair of colts go through the ring during the first evening of the Aug. 8-9 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale, with the duo bringing a healthy avearge of $227,500 for the first-crop stallion.

Topping the pair was hip No. 53, consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent, and purchased by the aptly-named Saratoga Seven Racing Partners for $255,000. The bay colt is out of the Distorted Humor mare Hottie Dancer, who is a daughter of Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Pike Place Dancer.

Consigned by Kaizen Sales, hip No. 98 went to St. Elias for $200,000. The Florida-bred colt is a half-brother to Alcibiades S. (G1) winner Peace and War.

Paynter has one lot in Tuesday night’s session, hip No. 176, a filly who is a half-sister to 2-year-old champion filly She Be Wild.
