Pioneerof the Nile's $850,000 colt, hip No. 151, at the 2018 OBS March 2-year-old Sale - Tibor Szlavik photo
The first day of the March 13-14 OBS Two-year-olds in Training Sale wrapped up with Pioneerof the Nile as the sire of the highest-priced colt of the session.
OXO Equine LLC was the winning bidder at $850,000 for hip No. 151, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent. The colt is out of the stakes-winning Stormy Atlantic mare American Lady, who is a half-sister to Sham S. (G3) winner The Pamplemousse.
Pioneerof the Nile had a total of three lots sell during the session, for an average of $450,000. Last year at this same sale, he was represented by $1 million and $700,000 colts.
