Speightstown’s Bobby’s Wicked One scores second straight Fair Grounds stakes win

Bobby’s Wicked One started 2020 like he ended 2019, with a stakes win at Fair Grounds. His 2020 debut came in Saturday’s $100,000 Duncan F. Kenner S., and the now 5-year-old cruised to a front-running, 4 1/4-length victory.

Winner of the Commonwealth S. (G3) at Keeneland last spring and the Thanksgiving Classic in November, Bobby’s Wicked One is 5-4-1 in 14 lifetime starts and has earned $484,257 for Autumn Hill Farms Racing Stables, Inc.

Left on his own to control the pace, Bobby’s Wicked One rolled through a half-mile in :44.87 and didn’t let up down the stretch, completing the six furlongs in a very quick 1:08.55, less than a half-second from the track record (VIDEO).

The winner was bred in Kentucky by Ramona Bass and was part of a huge day for Speightstown that saw his 4-year-old filly Victim of Love get her second career stakes win in Laurel Park’s What A Summer S. and the 3-year-old colt Echo Town named a TDN Rising Star with a sharp debut maiden special weight win at Fair Grounds.
