Stellar April continues for Carpe Diem at OBS 2yo sale
Wednesday, April 24, 2019
Fresh off getting his first winner from his initial crop, Carpe Diem has a had an excellent first two days of the April 23-26 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training, led by a $475,000 filly during Wednesday's session.

Consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc., hip No. 532, went to Phoenix Thoroughbred III, Ltd. The chestnut filly was coming off a smart quarter-mile work of :20 3/5 during the Under Tack Show.

The Kentucky-bred's dam, Rebuke, has produced a pair of winners and is herself a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Summer Cruise, who is in turn the dam of Grade 3 winner Sandbar.

Earlier during Wednesday's session Carpe Diem's hip No. 323 sold for $200,000 to Myracehorse.com and Joey Platts. Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, the filly is out of stakes winner Martita Sangrita.

Through the first two days of the auction, Carpe Diem's average of $248,750 is nearly 10 times his stud fee of $25,000. He has five lots remaining in the final two days.
