Super Saver colt tops Day 1 at F-T Oct. sale

Super Saver, who has one of his generation’s best yearling sale averages, at $94,190, had the session-topper during day 1 of the Oct. 20-22 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale with a $370,000 colt purchased by Fred Seitz’s Brookdale Farm on behalf of International Equities.

Consigned by Pope McLean’s Crestwood Farm agency, the colt is the first foal out of stakes-placed Crocodile Tuff.

Super Saver is the leading first-crop sire by progeny earnings thus far this year, with a pair of graded stakes winners to his credit.

“Super Saver is as hot as they get,” Seitz noted after placing the winning bid. “And the new owner (Chilean-based breeder Oussama Aboughazale) is a huge fan of Super Saver, so he had to have it. I think he’s a beautiful horse.”
