Tiz the Law to face elders in loaded Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1)

Constitution’s leading 3-year-old Tiz the Law will face the best of his generation as well as older foes in what is shaping up as a fantastic renewal of the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) Saturday at Keeneland.

Tiz the Law drew post 2 in the 10-horse field, with regular rider Manny Franco to ride. The Classic is the final race of the day, the 12th, and runs at 5:18 p.m. ET.

Tiz the Law has had an excellent year, winning four of five starts, three of them Grade 1s. His only blemish is a second in the Sept. 5 Kentucky Derby (G1), his most recent start. A victory in the Classic would assuredly sew up the 3-year-old  championship, and could also catapult him into Horse of the Year contention.

The Sackatoga Stable colt has won six of eight overall, earning $2,615,300. He was bred by Twin Creeks Farm and sold to his owner for $110,000 at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton New York Preferred Yearlings sale.

Constitution is the leading Second-Crop sire by both progeny earnings, with more than $5.6 million, and black type horses with 17. In addition to Tiz the Law, he has had a remarkable three Grade 1 winners in Chile in the last month alone. He’ll stand the 2021 season at WinStar for $85,000 S&N.
