Tiznow’s Ledecka wins Malvern Rose S. in stakes debut

Fresh off her Aug. 24 maiden win on the turf, Ledecka switched to the main track on Sept. 9 and came away with a victory in the $100,000 Malvern Rose S. at Presque Isle Downs (VIDEO).

Ledecka is Tiznow’s third stakes winner in the past three days, with Blue Chipper the highlight of the week with his win in the Keeneland Korea Sprint (G1-KOR) and Flor de La Mar winning the Beverly Lewis S. at Los Alamitos.

Never very far from the front, Ledecka was content to sit just behind the leaders for the first six furlongs, she made a move for the lead entering the stretch, then wore down Redeem My Heart with a final surge near the wire to win by a half-length in 1:38.64 for the mile on the synthetic surface.

Ledecka is owned by LNJ Foxwoods and has now earned $111,600 in five starts. The 3-year-old filly is the second foal out of Slews Golden Rule, who has a pair of stakes-winning siblings. She was bred by Blackstone Farm LLC.
