Uni (GB) makes it look easy in Noble Damsel S. (G3)

More Than Ready’s red-hot filly Uni (GB) won her third consecutive stakes race in Saturday’s $200,000 Noble Damsel S. (G3) at Belmont Park to remain undefeated in 2018.

In arguably her most impressive performance since coming to the United States from France in 2017, Uni was last in the small field of four until jockey Joel Rosario asked her for run with a quarter-mile to go. Full of run, the chestnut filly powered to the front without urging to roll home by nearly four lengths.

“I just tipped her out and she came running,” Rosario said. “She’s a really nice filly. [Trainer Chad Brown] just said to let her break, get her comfortable, follow the speed in the race, and take it from there. She’s a nice-moving filly. I was only the passenger, she did all the work.”

Uni is owned by a partnership headed by Michael Dubb. Winner of the Sands Point S. (G1) last year, she is now 5-1-1 in nine starts and has banked $679,893.

Uni joins an impressive lineup of eight graded stakes winners in 2018 by More Than Ready, topped by Grade 1 winners Catholic Boy and Funtastic.
