Warleigh’s late rally gives Speightstown newest stakes winner

Warleigh found his best stride in the final furlong of the $75,000 West Virginia Legislature Chairman Cup to give the son of Speightstown his first stake win [WATCH RACE].

Last of seven in the early stages of the 4 1/2-furlong sprint, Warleigh was still four lengths back of Strong Like Bull with a furlong to run, but the big chestnut had a full head of steam and rolled by the pacesetter to win going away.

Warleigh was bred by Fares Farm and has earned $232,598 for owner Robert Cole, Jr. He is Speightstown’s 13th stakes winner this year, the second most for all stallions standing in North America.
