Well-bred Super Saver filly sharp in MdSpWt debut

Open Arms chalked up an eye-catching victory in her June 19 debut in a seven-furlong maiden special weight contest at Churchill Downs, clearing off late to score by 1 3/4-lengths.

A 3-year-old daughter of Super Saver trained by Ian Wilkes, Open Arms overcame a four-wide trip on the turn to win convincingly in 1:23 1/5 for the seven panels on a fast main track (VIDEO).

Bred in Kentucky by Patterson Bloodstock, Open Arms is the first foal out of Cat Dance, who is a full sister to Forest Secrets, winner of the Acorn S. (G1) and Grade 3 winner Rumor Has It. Cat Dance’s dam Garden Secrets is a half-sister to Hall of Famer and multiple champion Silverbulletday.

Super Saver’s progeny continue to win at prestigious numbers, with 41 to date in 2016, ranking fourth-most among all Third Crop Sires.
