$335K filly tops F-T Saratoga sale for Paynter

The returns for Paynter during the second day of the Aug. 8-9 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale surpassed his Monday results, with a $335,000 filly setting a high-water mark of the sale.

The price also marked the most paid this year for a yearling from the first crop of the WinStar stallion, who was also one of the top freshman weanling sires of 2015.

Hip No. 176 was consigned by Bluewater Sales and went to Brad Anderson. The dark bay Kentucky-bred is a half-sister to She Be Wild, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) and champion 2-year-old filly.

Paynter, who was bred to 285 mares his first two years at stud, stood the 2016 for $20,000 live foal.
