American History, winner of the Breeders’ Futurity (G1), will try to keep his perfect record intact in Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Keeneland.
The 2-year-old Constitution colt has been stellar in both his outings, first breaking his maiden by 7 ¾-lengths in his Aug. 22 debut at Saratoga. He then came from off the pace once again in the Futurity, running down fellow Breeders’ Cup entrant Coach Pope to win by a length.
American History is owned by WinStar Farm LLC, First Go Racing and the CHC Inc., who purchased the chestnut as a yearling for $825,000 at the Keeneland September sale. Bred by Alpha Delta Stables, LLC, American History is out of Bloody Point, who is a half-sister to Vekoma.
The 1 1/16-mile Juvenile drew a field of eight, with American History in post 6 for trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez.
The Juvenile is race 9 on Friday’s card, with a scheduled post time of 4:55 pm ET.
Constitution is currently in the top six on the 2026 General Sire list, with 11 stakes winners and 34 stakes horses. WinStar recently announced he would stand the 2027 season for $110,000 S&N.
