Global Campaign’s Lottie Margaret gets first stakes win in NY Oaks

Lottie Margaret came through a narrow opening at the top of the stretch on her way to a clear-cut victory in the New York Oaks July 14 at Finger Lakes Racetrack.

The victory marked the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Global Campaign filly, who had finished second in the $125,000 Maddie May S. in March at Aqueduct in her only prior stakes start.

Lottie Margaret was a few lengths off the leaders through most of the 1 1/16-mile contest, biding her time until three furlongs remained. She was bottled up behind horses until turning for home, when she came through along the rail and immediately took the lead. She strode away nicely in the stretch to win by three lengths over Valtellina.

Lottie Margaret, who has a pair of 10-length wins on her resume, is now 3-1-1 in six starts and has earned $165,020 for Madaket Stables LLC. The bay filly was bred by Steve Schuster.

Grade 1 winner Global Campaign, also the sire of stakes winners Mrs Worldwide and Special Aviator, stood for a fee of $7,500 S&N in 2025.
