Leading First-Crop sire Life Is Good had his personal sale topper Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling sale when hip No. 201 brought a winning bid of $1.2 million.
The bay colt was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency on behalf of breeder Capri Bloodstock, Brad Stephens and Steve Martin. The colt was purchased by Justin Casse.
The Kentucky-bred is out of the Street Sense mare From the Hood, who is a half-sister to champion 2-year-old filly Folklore and Delightful Quality, the dam of two-time champion Essential Quality.
Taylor Made also consigned Life Is Good’s hip No. 147, a filly that sold for $700,000 to Deuce Greathouse, Agent for 30A Thoroughbreds. The filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Griffin’s Wharf and is closely related to Grade 1 winner Monba.
Life Is Good, who leads the First-Crop list by stakes winners and stakes horses, had a total of eight lots sell for an average of $698,125 during the two-day auction.
