Hammers Terror nails FG allowance

Hammers Terror made it two in a row with a sharp-looking allowance win Dec. 8 at Fair Grounds. The 2-year-old son of Artie Schiller broke his maiden at Keeneland in October. Artie Schiller is a top-10 second crop sire, with progeny earnings topping $2.6 million and 52 winners to his credit.

Hammers Terror attended the pace set by Hard Nosed for about five furlongs, made his way to the front around the far turn, then drew off in the stretch to win eased up by 2 3/4-lengths in 1:44.72 for the 1 mile and seventy yards on the fast main track.

Kentucky bred Hammers Terror is out of the Lord Avie mare Sister Baby and comes from the same family as Grade 2 winners Bold Windy and Kingdom Found. Hammers Terror sold for $40,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale, where he was bought by Terry Hamilton, his current owner.

The winner is now 2-1-0 in three starts, earning $61,616. He is only defeat was by a nose to Luke of York, subsequent winner of the Keeneland 75th Anniversary S. on Oct. 15.
