Speightster had one of the top-priced fillies during Wednesday’s session of the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling sale when hip No. 629 brought a winning bid of $475,000.
Consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent and bred by Cobalt Investments, the dark bay filly was purchased by Alex Lieblong.
Out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Hot Water, the yearling is a half-sister stakes winner Tracksmith, as well as the stakes-placed filly Tortuga. Her third dam is the champion 3-year-old filly Xtra Heat.
Speightster, a top-10 First-Crop sire of 2020, has already produced six winners, all at different tracks, and the stakes-placed duo of Dreaming of Drew and Fabricate.
