$100K Shine Again S. goes to Holiday Soiree

With a big move at the top of the stretch in Monday’s $100,000 Shine Again S., Holiday Soiree drew off to a 3 3/4-length victory to make the 3-year-old filly the 10th stakes winner of 2013 for Harlan’s Holiday.

After finishing 2012 as the Champion Juvenile sire, Harlan’s Holiday is enjoying another banner year, ranked in the top 10 on the General Sire list with progeny earnings of $4.9 million. He also ranks in the top 10 in the categories of stakes winners (10), stakes wins (14), and winners (107).

With her strong stretch move, Holiday Soiree covered the six furlongs in 1:08.80 for a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 96.

Holiday Soiree has been a model of consistency in her career, never finishing worse in 10 stakes starts, including third in this year’s Grade 1 Humana Distaff. She has earned $390,462 in her 18 career outings for Glencrest Farm LLC.

Holiday Soiree was bred by Brereton C. Jones from the Include mare Try to Remember, who was stakes placed on three occasions.
